 Skaneateles is a town in Onondaga County, approximately 30 minutes southwest of Syracuse New York. Parks/Lakes/Recreation: Skaneateles offers parks with playgrounds, jogging paths, basketball and tennis courts – even ice skating. Sidewalks are festooned with flowers and dotted with park benches. A pier in the village is available for strolling, fishing and people-watching. The lake is available for all water sports incuding, kayaking, canoeing, boating, boating, water skiing and swimming. You can also make reservations for lunch and dinner cruises around the lake. Lourdes Camp at Ten Mile point on the eastern shore of the lake provides an outdoor camp, sponsored by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse, for boys and girls between the ages of 7 throuh 14 to help them grow physically, spiritually, emotionally and socially through their camping experiences. There are 7 golf courses (Skaneateles Country Club, Midlakes Club, Links at Sunset Ridge, Lakeview Golf and Country Club, Highland Park, Pearl Lakes (9 hole) and Owasco Country Club (9 hole)) within a 7 mile radius from the center of Skaneateles.
